The Woodley Press, the only literary press in the nation devoted to Kansas themes and Kansas authors, celebrated its 30th anniversary with the publication of Robert N. Lawson's "Bridge of Dreams".

A companion value to Lawson's earlier book of sonnets, each of the novel's chapters opens with a title referring to a major work of literature, classical to modern. Covering a wide range of emotional, geographic and chronological territory, the novel traces the early and mid-life history of Jack, the ever-observant narrator, as his life is impacted by the powerful women who enter it.

Robert Lawson makes available some of his poetry and stories online along with a bio and other information. To learn more about this Kansas author, visit www.thebridgeofdreams.com

The Woodley Press has published 45 volumes of poetry, stories and plays, but has waited these 30 years for just the right novel to serve as its foray into the game.  The publication of "Bridge of Dreams" is only one of the special events scheduled for 2010.  There will be a reprinting of "The Kansas Poems of William Stafford" with new material from editor Denise Low, Poet Laureate of Kansas.  The Woodley Press is committed to identify and publishing the best of Kansas authors, Kansas themes and Kansas settings.  For further info and background or for publication guidelines, you can visit them online at www.washburn.edu/reference/woodley-press/index.html
