  • Patricia “Pat”  L. (Seibert) Wood, age 63, passed away July 5, 2012 at her home in Belpre.  She was born Dec. 19, 1948 in Stafford, the daughter of Harry L. and Betty J. (Debusk) Seibert.  After graduating from Macksville High School she attended Sidneys Hairdressing College. She then received her AA at Hutch JUCO before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Fort Hays State University.  She was a teacher in Syracuse for a short time before becoming a homemaker and a cornerstone of her children's activities.  She was involved with both Macksville Christian Church and Syracuse Presbyterian Church.  Pat was active in DAR, PEO and the Musical Hands piano group.  Later in life she was employed at Trinidad First National Bank and ESSDACK.  She also earned her CNA from DCCC.


    Survivors include her mother, Betty of Pratt,  a son, Timber Wood and wife Jerrilynn of Kismet, a daughter, Drift Kearns and husband Colin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Connie Grizzell and husband Rodger, Pratt,  Pam Ruane and husband Tom, Overland Park,  Cindy Keenan and husband Mark, Longwood, Fla.; grandchildren Brendan and Jentre Smith, Kiera and Keely Kearns; an aunt, Donna Suiter, Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Seibert; her Aunt Monica Preston; and her Uncle Verne Seibert.


    Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 13, at the Macksville Christian Church, Macksville, with Pastor Derek Brown presiding.


    Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville. 


    Visitation will be on Thursday, July 12,  from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Macksville. 



    Memorials may be given to South Wind Hospice or the Macksville Christian Church music department in care of Minnis Chapel.
