UPDATE-Fatality accident closes one lane of U.S. 281 highway, Sunday

A fatality accident closed one lane of U.S. 281 Hwy, just after 2 p.m.Sunday near the intersection of 170th Street in northern Stafford County.

Amador Holguin-Rodriquez, 67, was killed when he attempted to make a U-turn on U.S. Hwy 281. Rodriquez was southbound in a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, when he pulled onto the right shoulder and attempted to make a u-turn.

Rodriquz was struck when he turned in front of a 2011 Dodge pickup driven by Jordan Hickel, 28, of Great Bend, who was also southbound on U.S. 281.

Hickel was wearing safety restraints and was not injured in the accident.

Rodriquez, El Paso Texas, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.
