  • Firefighters in Stafford were kept busy with some random fires on Halloween while Law Enforcement officers were kept busy chasing the gremlins that set them.
Firefighters were called out around 8 p.m. for the first of three fires when a pile of downed trees on Bartlett's curve on old 50 highway were set on fire. The piles of trees at the two curves on highway 50 have been the target of Halloween arsonist for the past couple years.
Steve Moody, Stafford County EMS director, stated the tree pile flared back up or was relit later in the evening. As firefighters were finishing up at that scene for the second time a two-story house in Stafford caught on fire.
The house was unoccupied at the time. The cause is currently being investigated.
