  • A call to Stafford law enforcement Sunday afternoon, resulted in the caller being tazed and two individuals taken into custody.
Joint operations between Stafford city and county law enforcement Sunday ended in the arrests of Frank Sherbon, and Nathan Clark both of Stafford.
"Frank called me earlier in the day to say he had an individual over at his house that he might need my help with if he didn't leave," said Stafford Police Chief Doug Brown.
Brown stated he went by the residence at 205 S. Park later and Clark, the individual in question, had left the premises. As Brown left the residence a neighbor stopped him to report a gun shot in that area earlier.
"I got a call a little after that, that he (Clark) was drunk and at his mother's house outside the city limits," Brown said.
Brown went out to assist county officers. He stated that Clark was amicable enough when they got out there, but they ended up arresting him on a warrant out of Harper County.
"While we were out there he asked me what we were going to do about Frank (Sherbon) shooting at him with a shotgun," Brown said. "He said, 'ya, he shot right at me. I was duckin' and divin' but he didn't hit me."
Brown stated he asked Stafford County Sheriff officer Tom Fisher to accompany him back to talk with Sherbon, who was out on bond in connection with a driving under the influence charge. One of the conditions of the bond is no consumption of alcohol.
At the residence Sherbon became agitated when officers asked him to take a blood alcohol breath test according to Brown.
"He kept messing up the test so it wouldn't work right," he said. "He got agitated when Tom told him we were going to take him into custody. He started resisting arrest and trying to wrestle with Tom. And the fight was on.
"Tom got him in a head lock, but he busted free and headed toward the house. Tom pulled out his tazer and shot him, and the fight was off."
Brown said they are still investigating the shooting. According to Sherborn he was unloading the shotgun when it went off and shot into the ground. Another witness in the house said he shot into the air.
Sherbon was booked on obstruction, disorderly conduct and violation of his bond conditions. He is being held under no bond.
