Starting December 20 KWCH 12 and KSCW may no longer be available to DISH Network subscribers.
Starting December 20 KWCH 12 and KSCW may no longer be available to DISH Network subscribers. Although Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc. has reached agreements with every other cable or satellite provider in our area, the agreement with DISH Network is scheduled to end Thursday, December 20, at 11:00 p.m.
“These agreements are typically reached in the normal course of business, with no disruption to the viewer,” said Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc. Program Director Laverne Goering. “We’re disappointed that’s not the case with DISH. However we’re not terribly surprised. DISH has been involved in the majority of these types of stalemates, throughout the country.”
If KWCH 12 and KSCW are pulled from DISH Network, DISH subscribers would lose access to CBS’ top rated primetime programming (NCIS, Sherlock, and Big Bang Theory), NFL Football, NCAA Basketball, and Kansas’ highest rated news, KWCH 12 Eyewitness News
Sunflower Broadcasting, Inc. continues to work hard with DISH Network to come to a fair and market based agreement. It will be unfair if DISH Network subscribers lose access to KWCH 12 and KSCW programming. KWCH 12 and KSCW remain free over the air and will still be seen on all other local cable and satellite providers.
Earlier this year, DISH Network pulled AMC when negotiations stalled. DISH Network and AMC eventually reached an agreement.
