Financially supporting local schools can now be as simple supporting ones daily needs with the help of Kroger Inc., and Dillons Gift cards.
USD 350 Dillons gift cards are available that allow users to purchase groceries, gas, and other items from Dillons stores with four percent of the purchase price being donated to the St. John/Hudson schools Parent Teacher Organization.
“The money goes to the PTO and we use it to support the school with supplies, money for field trips, etc,” said PTO member Carolyn Dunn. “The best part is the money comes from Kroger, not the shoppers. A $25 dollar card costs $25, and is worth that at the stores so it cost nothing to do this.”
Dunn had a table full of the cards during last week’s enrollment, but she said the cards can be purchased throughout the year. They are currently available at the St. John National Bank, St. John city offices, and USD 350 schools.
“We are going to try to set up some booths at different sporting events this year,” Dunn said. “It will depend on the number of volunteers we get.”
