Square Eggs, St. John:    Thursdays, March 24, March 31 and April 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. you can get the freshest darn eggs outside of the hen right here on the Square.  3 sizes available - supplying your own carton isn’t necessary but appreciated.  Chicken George gives this two tail-feathers up!

Easter at Second Chances, St. John
:    Starting Thursday, March 25, Second Chances is rolling out the Spring Time collection of lovingly used clothing and fun and colorful Easter items.  Support the Ministerial Alliance, get some great deals (we got 3 pairs of $50 Rockies jeans for $1.50 each!) and go shopping today!

Easter Egg Hunt, Macksville:    Saturday, March 27, 3:30 p.m. in Macksville.  The Kayettes are hosting this fun annual event which will be held in the park.  If the weather turns for the worse, no problem as the hunt will be moved indoors into the high school gym.  0-12 years of age are invited to come out, hunt eggs and have a great afternoon!

Grand Opening of Pueblo Nuevo, St. John:  11 a.m., Saturday, is the date we’ve all been waiting for!  Join the Lopez family as they open the doors to the newest Mexican-American restaurant in St. John.  Choose great dishes from an extensive menu and let the kids choose from their own menu items, too.  And don’t forget - they’re open til 9 p.m.

Easter on the Square, St. John:  3 p.m., Saturday, April 3 - It’s the annual Easter Celebration with egg hunts (age divisions so little ones and not so little ones have fun), games and all sorts of fun things to do.  Don your Easter Bonnet and come out and enjoy one of the best times of the year!

Easter Sunrise Service, First United Methodist, St. John:  Sunday, April 4, 6:45 a.m. at the St. John First United Methodist Church. What a wonderful way to celebrate the most profound event in Christianity.  You’re welcome regardless of religious affiliation and afterwards you’re invited to enjoy the yummy free breakfast for everyone.

:    Sunday, April 4, 7 a.m., Eden Valley Church of the Brethren will host a beautiful Sunrise Service on the pond at the Jim and Judy Fox Farm on NW 50th Ave-Eden Valley Road (about a half mile north of the church). Bring a carry-in breakfast to share at the Fellowship Hall following the service and afterward, the 9 a.m. regular Sunday service will be held. Call Pastor Tom Harrison for further info at 620-388-2923 or email him at tomalannaharrison@gmail.com  No matter who you are - all are welcome on this glorious day!

Mom’s Bar & Grill, Seward:  Note these special hours - Tuesday and Wednesday, March 23 and 24 and Saturday, March 27 will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ten O’Clock Classics, Pratt:  Pratt Community Concert Assn has rescheduled the Ten O’Clock Classics to April 8, 7 p.m. in the Pratt United Methodist Church. This quartet mixes styles, instrumentation and genres-even tossing in some jazz rhythm to create what Wynton Marsalis describes as the joy of classical music arrangements for the uninitiated. Featuring arrangements that have been enjoyed in bars, health clubs, jazz clubs and even NBA half time entertainment to Carnegie Hall, Parisian and Melbourne International Arts Festival venues, there’s definitely something for everyone. Tickets at the door are $15.

Take a hike, dude, Fort Larned:  Springtime is the best time to hit the walking /jogging trail at Fort Larned. The Visitor Center opens at 8:30 a.m. and you can pick up a trail brochure and directions and if bird watching is your thing, be sure  you ask for a bird check list. Don’t forget there’s a great picnic area too. Free admission and Fort Larned National Historic Site is located six miles west of Larned on Hwy 156. Visit www.nps.gov/fols or call 620-285-6911.
