Pelican Pete Pig Out, Quivira: Saturday, Nov. 5, 5:30 pm

Elias Pelton, better known to us as Pelican Pete, was a resident of Stafford, who lived a reclusive life on the banks of the salt marsh that is now the Quivira Wildlife Refuge. Stories and tales have been told of him and of his insights of philosophy, debating skills, scripture, mathematics and about his voracious appetite. This is an annual celebration to honor him and create awareness.

Following will be the main program and perform with country western singing sensation direction from Nashville: Brent Ronen, with Chris Ronen and Dennis Teichman.

The program also features a film highlighting famous Kansas and a remembrance and tribute to Pelican Pete himself. Door prize drawings will wrap up the evening.

$25 tickets are available at American State Bank in St. John; Freunds Crafts and Flowers, Quivira Insurance, Farmers National Bank and the city offices in Stafford.
