The Macksville Mustangs suffered a second loss to the Pratt Greenbacks after losing in the second round of the Mid-Winter Classic with a 64-39 defeat on the Greenback’s home court, Tuesday.

The Mustangs fought the Greenbacks hard during the Classic keeping the game close, but Tuesday’s outing was not quite so close.

The Mustangs hit 8 points in the first period, 21 in the first half with Pratt hitting scoring 34 in the half, 15 in the first quarter.

After the break, Pratt held Macksville to 9 points in each of the final two quarters while they scored 16 in the third and 14 in the fourth for the final 64-39.

Seth Filbert lead the Mustangs with 11 points hitting two three-pointers and a pair of deuces with 1-2 from the line.

Tanner Tranbarger and Adolfo Ibarra each added seven points, Adam Oak had 6, Taylor Tranbarger 5, and Jordan Welch slipping in a three-pointer in the third.

The Mustangs shot only 26 percent from the field and 66 percent from the line.

Oak led under the basket with 10 rebounds.

Pratt’s shooting percentage was 52 for the game with Micah Swank scoring 26 points.

The Mustangs next game will be Jan. 31 at LaCrosse.
