Western State Bank Expo Center hosts garage sale.
From rodeos, to seminars, to sales and shows, the Western State Bank Expo Center hosts all sorts of activities and events for the community.
Today the Expo Center is holding a community “treasure hunt” garage sale and craft show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We named it the treasure hunt because one man’s junk is another man’s treasure,” said Danielle Crouch, manager at the Expo Center. “What somebody may be looking to get rid of out of their closet or garage as their junk, that might be someone else’s treasure.”
This free community garage sale is in its third year. This year there will be available items such as garage sale items, homemade crafts, home decor and skin care items.
After having roughly 800 people appear to last year’s garage sale, Crouch stated that the garage sale this year won’t be very big.
“The Expo Center put this on and we just wanted to have a small event like this where people could have a garage and display their stuff,” said Crouch. “These items are very reasonably priced, and it’s also nice to not have to worry about the weather and things like that.”
With good intentions in mind, the Expo Center has asked the Salvation Army in Dodge City and Goodwill in Garden City to make an appearance at the end of the event.
“They have restrictions on what they can accept, but they’ll be on-hand so that people can donate what they don’t sell that’s also on (Salvation Army or Goodwill’s) accepted list,” said Crouch. “That will help the community with the Salvation Army being here, and we like to do that every year for our community.”
The Expo Center is located at the corner of Highway 283 and Highway 400.
