WaKEENEY — A Wichita man was flown to a Wichita hospital after a crash Sunday in Trego County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, James Andrew Beardslee, 24, was driving a 2007 Honda passenger car at about 4:40 a.m. eastbound on Interstate 70 about 1.5 miles west of the junction with Voda Road when the car skidded off the road. It overturned in the south ditch and into a Kansas Department of Transportation fence.

Beardslee was first taken to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, then flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was not wearing a safety restraint, according to the KHP.
