Two Larned residents, 72-year-old Leon Thornton and 67-year-old Deborah Wedd, were injured in a two-vehicle accident near Radium.

Two people from Larned were injured in a two-vehicle accident in the northwest part of Stafford County on April 6.

The accident occurred when a northbound 1995 Ford Aerostar driven by Leon Thornton, 72 of Larned, failed to yield at the intersection of NW 130th Street and NW 90th Avenue that is about five miles southwest of Radium. The Aerostar struck a westbound 1991 International truck tractor driven by Lawrence Vinsonhaler, 51 of Offerle, in the intersection.

Thornton and his passenger, Deborah Wedd, 67 of Larned, were both injured and transported to Pawnee County Hospital. Thornton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Wedd and Vinsonhaler were wearing seat belts.

The accident was reported at 9:20 a.m.
