SOUTH HUTCHINSON — The Sedgwick Cardinal softball team suffered a pair of losses to Hutchinson Trinity Tuesday in Heart of America League play.

Sedgwick fell 8-4 and 10-7.

In the first game, Sedgwick jumped out to a 4-1 lead after three innings, but Trinity scored three runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth and two runs in the sixth.

Meg Friday went two for three hitting with two RBIs for Trinity. Erica Naccarato went two for four with an RBI.

Avery Blank had a home run and two RBIs for Sedgwick. Macie McGinn went two for three.

Jordan Gallilher pitched the win for Trinity, striking out 10. Blank took the lossm striking out seven.

In the second game, Trinity scored in every inning but the second. Ten Sedgwick errors led to seven unearned runs.

Gallilher pitched the win, striking out seven. Blank took the loss, striking out five.

Naccarato went two for four hitting with two RBIs. Gallilher also drove in two runs. Maddy Strecker went two for three with an RBI.

For Sedgwick, Blank went two for three with a home run and two RBIs. Gracie Mabry also hit a home run and drove in two runs.

Sedgwick is 3-5 and hosts Moundridge at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcats claimed a sweep over Canton-Galva Tuesday in Moundridge.

Moundridge won 11-7 and 16-6. The second game was called after five innings on the 10-run rule.

In the first game, Moundridge led 9-1 after three innings, holding off an Eagle comeback. The two teams combined for nine errors.

Zizi Sebrant went two for three hitting with three runs scored. Bethany Stucky drove in two runs.

Sebrant went the distance pitching, striking out four.

In the second game, Moundridge jumped out 9-1 after two innings. The Wildcats were outhit 9-7, but took advantage of 13 walks and five Eagle errors.

Keira Sebrant went three for four hitting, driving in two runs. Erin Durst went two for two with two RBIs. Katie Castor and Cambry Stucky each drove in two runs.

Makenzie Elmore pitched the win, striking out four.

Moundridge is 5-5 and plays at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Sedgwick.

HAVEN — The Hesston Swather softball team dropped a pair of games to Haven Tuesday in Central Kansas League play.

Hesston lost 15-0 and 17-0. The first game was called after three innings on the 15-run rule. The second game was called after four innings.

In the first game, Alaina Dunlavy prevented the no-hitter. Haven scored 10 runs in the second inning.

Kaela Wade took the loss, striking out two.

In the second game, Haven broke things open with eight runs in the second inning.

Kailey Jo Ince and Machenzie Koehn each had a hit for the Swathers.

Wade took the loss.

Hesston is 2-6 and hosts Smoky Valley at 4 p.m. Friday.

MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcats got the bats going to sweep rival Canton-Galva.

Moundridge won the first game 11-1 five innings on the 10-run rule. The Wildcats won the second game 19-0 in three innings on the 15-run rule.

In the first game, Moundridge scored in every inning. Bryant Olson drove in two runs. Chris Leddy went two for two with an RBI. Noah Eichelberger went two for three with an RBI.

Andrew Prieb went two for two for the Eagles, driving in his team’s sole run.

Collin Kohl needed just 57 pitches to go the distance for Moundridge, striking out six and giving up four hits. Keaton Littrell took the loss for Canton-Galva, striking out five. Prieb struck out two in 1.1 innings.

In the second game, Leddy and Wyatt Falco combined on a two-hit shutout. Leddy struck out six.

Leddy had two hits and three RBIs. Eichelberger drove in two runs.

Moundridge is 5-5 and plays at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Sedgwick.

LYONS — The Halstead Dragon baseball team claimed a pair of wins Tuesday over Lyons-Chase.

Halstead won the first game 15-3 in five innings on the 10-run rule. Halstead won the nightcap 23-4 in six innings.

In the first game, David Schulte tossed a complete-game two-hitter, striking out seven and walking five. Brayden Moore took the loss, striking out seven and walking three.

Brian Casey went four for four at the plate for Halstead, driving in four runs. Bryant Odendahl and Carter Hiebert each drove in two runs. Hiebert, Noah Mendez, Kaden Kraus and Schulte each had two hits.

Moore drove in two runs for Lyons-Chase.

Leading 10-4 in the second game, Halstead scored 13 runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Schulte went three for four hitting with four RBIs. Casey went two for four with three RBIs. Kaden Lopez went two for five with three RBIs. Odendahl went two for three with two RBIs. Kaden Kraus went two for four with two RBIs. Hiebert drove in three runs. Jonathan Fulghum drove in two runs.

Dakota Procopio went two for four for Lyons-Chase.

Dalton Kraus struck out 11 in 5.2 innings for the win. Kaden Kraus finished the game. Lyons-Chase used five pitchers with Carlos Valerio taking the loss.

Halstead is 4-4 and hosts Larned at 4 p.m. Friday.

HAVEN — The Hesston Swather baseball team dropped a pair of games to Haven Tuesday in CKL play in Haven.

Hesston lost the first game 14-4 in six innings on the 10-run rule. Hesston lost the second game 21-9 in five innings.

In the first game, Haven jumped out 10-3 after four innings.

Jackson States went four for five hitting for Haven with five RBIs. Wyatt Bose hit a solo home run. Nathan Rohling and Colby Cooprider each added two RBIs.

States held Hesston to five hits with a walk and six strikeouts.

Cameron Cox took the loss for Hesston.

In the second game, Haven scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to break open a three-run game.

James Henkle drove in four runs for Haven. Boese drove in three. Nathan Rohling went two for three with a home run and two RBIs. Jevon Miller also drove in two runs. Haxton Smith went three for four with an RBI.

Matt Whitsitt went two for two for Hesston. Ben Roth went two for three with an RBI. Peyton Lewis and Cameron Cox each drove in two runs.

Bobby Schrag pitched for the win for Haven. Brady Cox took the loss for Hesston.

WICHITA – The Remington Broncos lost a pair of non-league games to Life Prep Tuesday at Roberson Field in Wichita.

Remington lost the first game 17-2 in three innings on the 15-run rule. Remington lost the second game 9-8.

In the first game, Life Prep scored nine runs in the first inning. Remington was held to five hits. Cole Summers had two RBIs for the Broncos.

Max Wright took the loss for Remington.

In the second game, Remington scored six runs in the sixth inning to take an 8-2 lead, but gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth and four in the seventh.

Weston Sommers went two for two hitting for Remington, driving in two runs. Ryan Hamilton went two for three with an RBI.

Kyle Thiessen took the loss in relief of Sommers and Tillotson.

Remington is 5-5 and plays at 3 p.m. Friday at Bennington.
