The Hays High softball team picked up a pair of run-rule victories on Tuesday, defeating Colby 12-0 and 15-5 at Dusty Glassman Ball Park. 

In game one, Kaitlyn Brown, Madelyn Waddell and Shyann Schumacher each had two hits for the Indians with Brown driving in three runs. Schumacher also homered in the game while Brown and Jaysa Wichers doubled. 

Brown shut out Colby for five innings in the circle, allowing two hits.

The Indians trailed 5-0 in game two before putting up a nine-run third inning. Hays finished with 18 hits and saw seven players put together multi-hit games. 

Waddell and Wichers led the way with three hits each while Brown, Macee Altman, Reanna Harman, Cassidy Prough and Brooke Denning had two hits apiece. 

Wichers drove in four runs and homered, while Brown, Schumacher and Denning each had a double. Brown earned the win in the circle, giving up two runs and only one hit in 4.2 innings of relief. 

Hays High, which improved to 5-5 on the season, will play at Great Bend on Friday.
