The St. John Tigers boys 4x800 relay is now the top team in Division 1A after taking first at the Ellinwood Invitational. Torre Fisher breaks the St. John school record in the 300 meter hurdles for a silver medal.

Nice weather accompanied the eight teams at the Ellinwood Invitational last Friday evening. For the St. John-Hudson Tigers, while the points were somewhat spread out, St. John’s top two relays stood out. Golds went to the 4x800 meter Relay, comprised of Trey Fisher, Cashe McVey, Mason Osborne and Quincy Smith. Midway through, Osborne turned on the juice, part of a one-two-punch. Then St. John’s anchor Smith stretched the lead big time. The Tigers 4x800 is now at the top of the heap in 1A, with Regional and State approaching.

Smith also took gold in the 800 meter Run.

The 4x400 comprised of Trey Fisher, McVey, Tanner Halling and Smith took the silver, their best time this year. Tanner Halling also took the silver in the Shot Put.

Smith took bronze in Triple Jump and Chase Fisher in high jump.

Chase Fisher placed fourth in the Shot Put.
