Heading West on the Santa Fe Trail is an fascinating trip sponsored by the St. John Recreation Commission (SJRC).  Reservations must be made by July 1 for this July 6 event.

A bus will leave at 8 a.m. from St. John, heading toward Garfield where the Santa Fe Trail will be picked up. At 9 a.m. you’ll have a coffee break in Kinsley before heading to the Edwards County Museum, the Kinsley Cemetary Rut and other sites that only the guide, Larry Mix, can show you.
Lunch will be at  Becky’s Blue Hereford Restaurant in Ford. Afterward, the trip continues as you tour the Windhorst Church.

Due to the packed schedule, there will be no trip through Greensburg as originally planned and the bus will return to St. John at 4 p.m.

At a later date, the SJRC will travel to Greensburg to tour the "state of the art" school and the Meteor Museum.
