County Commissioners: Sandyland lease renewal approved

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, December 30 in the Commissioner’s Room of the Courthouse.  Present:  Clayton Grimmett, Roger Fanshier and J.D. Hager.

Information:  The November hospital balance sheet was handed to the board.  Board member Ron Culbert discussed the financial status of the hospital with the board.

Approved: JD Hager moved and Roger Fanshier seconded to approve the tax roll corrections.   Motion carried 3-0.

Approved:   Lisa Milton, Treasurer, requested a salary increase for Lisa Weber, moving from Range 5 Step 7 to Range 5 Step 8, effective January 1, 2012.   Roger Fanshier moved and JD Hager seconded to approve the increase.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Executive Session:  At the request of Lisa Milton, Roger Fanshier moved and JD Hager seconded to recess to executive session for five minutes to discuss non-elected personnel.  Motion carried 3-0.  In at 9:55 a.m., out at 9:58 a.m.

Approved:  The Double S Farms lease agreement for the Sandyland property was presented for approval.  The lease agreement had been rewritten to provide for more detailed provisions, and included an increase in the yearly rent that Double S will pay to the county - raising from $ 5,015.20/year to $ 6,269.00/year for the rental of 125.38 acres.  The agreement has been approved by County Attorney Joe Shepack.  JD Hager moved and Roger Fanshier seconded to approve the agreement.  Motion carried 3-0.

Approved:  Francis Fanshier, North Seward township, is willing to serve on the RC & D committee.  JD Hager moved and Roger Fanshier seconded to appoint Francis Fanshier to the RC & D Committee.  There are still two positions for Stafford County open on the committee.

 The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, January 9 at 8:30 a.m.
