The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, November 28, with all present.
Information: Darren Reed, Landfill Supervisor informed the board that the digging is complete at landfill. Last Tuesday the CQA was done, with final result being reported back to the county sometime this week. Once the approval is received from KDHE, the pit can be used.
Executive Session: At the request of Reed, JD Hager moved and Roger Fanshier seconded to recess to executive session for 15 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel. Motion carried 3-0. In at 8:31 am, out at 8:46 am.
Approved: Steve Moody, Emergency Services Director, presented a request to purchase a portable radio, six pagers and a repeater to finish up the federal mandates for narrow banding. The request was to purchase six pagers with 2 year extended warranties at a cost of $ 396.00 each, as well as one HT1250 radio for $ 748.00 for a total cost of $ 2,884.00 from TBS Electronics. The cost of the UHF repeater, installation, and power supply with a remount antenna is $ 1,926.28, this will be purchased from CDS Electronics. The purchases will be made out of capital outlay funds from both EMS and Fire Department. RF moved and JD seconded to purchase the radios and pagers for a total of $ 4810.28. Motion carried 3-0.
Information: Janet McMurray – Blue Cross and Blue Shield – came back to discuss the self-funded quote. Ms. McMurray developed a three tier plan for consideration. Enrollment will need to start as soon as possible in order to get everything tied up by the end of the year. The commissioners will take some time to study the numbers before making a decision.
Approved: Carl Miller, Appraiser, met with the board to discuss the purchase of a computer from RC Computers to update the GIS computer. This computer will be compatible with the photography program. The cost of the computer will be $ 1,111.50, to be taken out of the Appraiser Equipment Reserve Fund. JD Hager moved and Roger Fanshier seconded to allow the purchase of the computer in the amount of $ 1,111.50. Motion carried 3-0.

Information: County Clerk Nita Keenan discussed the Christmas and New Years Holidays for county employees. As per the personnel policy, when a paid holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be designated as the Holiday off. December 26th and January 2nd will be the designated Christmas and New Years Holidays for county employees.
