A second stabbing les than five days sent one Stafford resident to Via Christi St. Francis hospital with serious injuries.
Leonard Herold, 73, of Stafford was taken to Via Christi hospital in Wichita after being stabbed by his grandson 21-year-old Jon Micheal Greer, of the same residence.
"It's still under invevstigation," said Doug Brown, Stafford Police Chief. "It was an arguement between the two. I think the grandson wanted money and he (Leonard) wouldn't give him any. It looks like may have gone after the granmother first and granddad stepped in between them."
Herold was taken to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita by ambulance. Air ambulances helicopters were unable to fly at the time due to weather. His condition is currently unknown. Greer was taken into custody with a 1/2 million bond set.
“In the 26 years I’ve been here we’ve only had one stabbing,” said Stafford County Sheriff Jeff Parr. “Now we’ve had two in the span of a couple days.”
The first stabbing occurred in Hudson on Thursday when Pamela Pratt slashed Jon Richardson multiple times with a box cutter style knife. Parr said the two incidents were unrelated.
