The first week in October is National 4-H week, each year Stafford County’s 4-H Council, a combination of officers from all three clubs, sponsors a poster contest and a window display contest across the county - promoting 4-H.
All three clubs put together a window display in their town, and members pick winners from those displays.
The display in the St. John News window was the Jolly Workers window display. It received second place in this year’s contest. Cloverleaf was first and Corn Valley was third.
Prizes award for the displays were $25 for first, $15 for second and 10 for third. The poster display had the same prize amounts.
The winners were Jolly Workers 4-H Club, St. John-Hudson; first place - Chase Fisher, second place - Dylan Reed, third place - Julia Taylor.
Corn Valley 4-H Club, Stafford; first place - Brianna McNickle, second place - Brooke McNickle.
Cloverleaf 4-H Club, Macksville; first place - Jacob Suiter, second place - Anna Suiter, third place - Skyler Evans.
