The staff of Fort Larned National Historic Site invites the public to an old fashioned Christmas celebration. The Holiday Open House will be Saturday, December 10 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will include music, caroling, tours, and tasty treats from long ago.
Scenes of the holidays at Fort Larned will be brought to life and viewed during the tours which will leave every 15 minutes. Plan to spend an hour or two at the fort with your family and be sure to dress warmly. Enjoy your heritage by visiting the Fort Larned Christmas Open House! 620-286-6911

The Stan Kenton Christmas Brass is a 22 member brass and percussion band under the leadership of Lisa Hittle, director of Jazz Studies at Friends University.
The past 37 years, the band has performed Christmas carol arrangements by Stan Kenton, jazz ace and native of Wichita, throughout area churches.
If you love Christmas, jazz or live entertainment, you’ll love this special performance. By donation to the church.

Leave SJRC at 1:00 p.m. for an afternoon of viewing National Quilt Display at Shafer Gallery and Santas Around the World Exhibit. - Evening meal will be at Perkins. Trail of Lights tour also included.Fee: $20.00 Reservations must be made by Thurs., December 8, 2011 (549-6549)

Pratt Christmas Lights at Lemmon Park
Leaving SJRC at 1:00 p.m. for Shopping or Just Wishing Trip to the specialty shops on Main Street. - Supper will be at Woody's known for their wonderful hamburgers and sandwiches. Following our meal, we will tour the light of Lemmon Park. This trip will make all of us ready for Christmas and the sharing of the blessing with our families and friends. Fee is $15.00 Reservations MUST BE MADE by Thurs. December 15, 2011 (549-6549).

Cookies with Santa! 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. (right after school)
Witt Center Skating Rink - come enjoy snacks, get your photo with Santa and play the candy cane game. Open to pre-school to 4th graders - FREE
Bryn’s New Years Eve Benefit New Year’s Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31 is a special night in more ways than one. A benefit is being held for four year old Brynlin Sanders of St. John to help with her medical expenses in connection with her diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor. Then event will be held at Mid-Kansas Ag outside St. John.
Here’s what you can expect: A Large variety of LIVE music; a sumptuous meal by Wheatland Cafe starting at 5 pm; raffle from 5 pm to 9 pm; high end items up for auction; entertainment and games for kids. And there’s a FREE BABYSITTING provided by Junior High Cheerleaders and their parents will be at the Witt Center from 9 pm to 1 am.
It promises to be a great evening of fun, entertainment and hope as you bring in the new year with the prayers for Bryn.
