The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, March 1 with all present.
Jim Gleason, Extension Board Chairman, Amy Collins and Glenn Newdigger, Extension Agents met with the board to provide information about the procedure used to form extension districts as an FYI only.
Lisa Milton, Treasurer, requested permission to update the SQL Program for the new server. Approved.
Darren Reed, Landfill Supervisor, presented Resolution 2010-4, the annual Resolution entering into an Interlocal Agreement with the Santa Fe Trails Solid Waste Mgmt. Plan. Approved.
Ron Culbreth requested permission to tear apart and recycle the useable parts from the computers and other equipment that have been taken to the E-waste trailer at the landfilll. The board thought it was a good idea, but there are concerns with the security of machines that have been left in the trailer. This equipment was left by the public with the assurance that all data on the machines would be destroyed. Mr. Culbreth assured the board that the hard drives would be destroyed. A disclaimer form will be drafted for those leaving E-waste with the county so that there will be no question as to the disposal of the equipment.
Phillip Nusser, Road Supervisor, presented a Right-of-Way agreement from Dicks Oilfield Service to bore under the Stafford/Ellinwood Road between sections 1 and 2 in 21-12. Approved.
Nusser was presented, moving from Range 14 Step 3C to Range 14 Step 4D, effective March 1, 2010. Approved.
Steve Moody, Emergency Services Director and Rob Murrow, Macksville City Council Member and Macksville Fire Station Chief, met with the board to discuss the possibility of the county splitting the cost with the City of Macksville for having an opening installed in the existing fire station. Approved with contingency of written rental agreement.

Following executive session, Steve requested that the commission send a letter to the Kansas Insurance Commission to take a look at the Fireman’s Relief Association to make sure that the statutes are being followed. Approved.
Rob Murrow, Undersheriff, returned to the meeting with bids for a vehicle. Six bids were reviewed by the board on both extended cabs and crew cabs. The lowest bids were on the Ford models, with GMC and Dodge being substantially higher. Following discussion, J.D. Approved from Marmie Ford 4-door Ford F150 pickup at a cost of $ 16,821.00.
