ST. JOHN - Pauline “Granny P” Marshall died Dec. 30, 2009 at Southwind Hospice House in Pratt.  She was born Jan. 17, 1926 to Naomi (Nolen) and Thomas Johnson in Lawton, Okla.

Marshall’s early years were spent in many Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas communities, as her father traveled with his job in the oil fields. These experiences led to her outgoing personality and ability to make friends easily.  She was a successful business woman who worked in real estate, insurance sales, mobile home sales and park management as well as ranch management.

She married Paul “Pablo” Marshall in October 1988. They enjoyed traveling and continuing their learning by taking courses in welding, sailing and computers. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, shopping, dining out and especially spoiling her only grandchild, Amy Jo.

She is survived by her children, George and Kim Unruh, St. John; granddaughter Amy Jo Marshall, St. John; and many “adopted” family members, friends and care-takers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother “Tadpole” Johnson; and an infant daughter, son Zane Thomas, and her husband, Paul Marshall.

Funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 3 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Carl Feril presiding. Burial will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, N.M. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwind Hospice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.Box 34, St. John, Kan. 67576
