County Commissioners: Oil heater, cost of living raises approved

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, January 23 with all present.

Information:  Steve Moody and Misty Blakeslee, Emergency Services, presented the 2011 Annual Report - A recap of the year for Emergency Services.  The department was notified that the county did not receive the pumper/tanker grant.  Numerous other grants are still being pursued by the department. 

Approved:  Clayton Grimmett moved and JD Hager seconded to approve a 2% cost of living increase for 2012.  Motion carried 3-0.

Information:  Lisa Milton, Treasurer, presented the 2011 fourth quarter Investment Performance Report for the county.

Information/ Approved:  Phillip Nusser, Road Supervisor, discussed the waste oil burner at the shop.  The current unit was purchased in 2001, and has approximately 11,000 hours on it.  The existing burner will need a new fire box i that will not be covered under warranty. 

A bid from Central Equipment for exact same unit, only newer was presented for consideration.  The cost of the unit will be $ 7,075.00, including trade in of the 2001 model, installation and a 1 year parts warranty from the date of installation and Central equipment applies a 1 year from date of installation labor warranty.  There is a 10 year prorated warranty on the heat exchanger.   Clayton Grimmett moved and JD Hager seconded to purchase the 2012 reclaimed oil heater from Central Equipment for $ 7,075.00.  Motion carried 3-0. 

Approved:  2012-5 - A Resolution setting salaries for 2012 was presented for adoption.   JD Hager moved and Clayton Grimmett seconded to approve Resolution 2012-5.  Motion carried 3-0.
