ONGOING NOW:   

**   Valentine gift package from the Friends of the Library at the Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library, St. John.  This is really one of the best deals EVER.  You'll get a couple of gently read books arranged with a big candy bar and a sweet Valentine card all wrapped with love and a bow.  The gifts really make a beautiful presentation and they're only $5.  All the proceeds go toward the purchase of books for the Library so you will feel good while doing good.

** Heart 2 Heart:  Give a smile to someone in need!  This Valentine's Day - help spread a little cheer. Purchase a paper heart at Dillon's in St. John at the check-out register, and Dillon's will deliver a fun mylar Valentine's Day balloon to area children's hospitals, hospices, family centers and community homes.  $5 each and your name goes on the Wall of Fame, too!

Saturday, Feb 4:   Stafford County Museum Benefit - 5 pm - 7 pm at the Methodist Church at 218 W. Stafford, Stafford. The Stafford County Museum is a delight located in Central Kansas.  There is a massive amount of history contained within their walls and Director Michael Hathaway does an outstanding job in obtaining items and working with restoration projects.

The Silent Auction has been ongoing for a month and includes many, many different items for which one can bid. he public is invited to enjoy soups, chili and cakes which will be sold to benefit the Museum and conclude the silent Celebrity Auction which will close bids at 7 pm. All proceeds will be used toward the ongoing glass negatives cleaning project as well as general expenses of the Museum itself.

Sunday, Feb 5:  Pickin' Picnic in Stafford - Bring your guitar, mandolin, banjo, voice, or whatever it is you have to make music to The Gathering Place, Sunday, Feb. 5 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 105 N. Main in Stafford. It’s a day sure to be fun filled with music and food is available for purchase whether you’re playing or listening. Come out and be a part of an afternoon of fun.

Tuesday, Feb 7:   Soup Supper at Macksville - Quivera Heights Game - The sophomore class of MHS is dishing up chili, potato soup and chicken noodle soup from 5 pm to 7 pm in the multi-purpose room of Macksville Grade School. Your soup, drink, relish and dessert can be purchased for $5.50 per adult or $4 for children ages 3 to 7.

Tuesday, Feb. 14:  Dinner and a Movie, Stafford - The Gathering Place located at 105 N. Main in Stafford is hosting a delightful evening that begins at 6:30 pm with you dining on a Five Course Meal while enjoying live entertainment. Afterwards you'll adjourn to the Ritz Theater for a movie. Seating is limited and reservations are a must! 620-234-5400

 
Friday, Feb. 17:   St. John Community Blood Drive in Honor of Brynlin Sanders will be held Friday, February 17,  11 am to 4 pm at the IOOF Gym - 700 E. 1st,  Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment.
