The Golden Belt Community Foundation is celebrating its 15th Anniversary and is doing so in a special way.

Since 2002, The Golden Belt Community Foundation has awarded grants to numerous organizations in our area.  To honor those recipients and to bring light to the organization, members will be placing gold bows at each recipient’s location in the next week.

Established in 1996, the Golden Belt Community Foundation exists to provide non-profit organizations in central Kansas with a permanent source of support and to serve as a “vehicle” for charitable giving for donors. The GBCF serves the counties of Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford.

The GBCF believes the strength of our communities is the same today as it was in the early years. That strength is exemplified in neighbors giving to neighbors to enhance the quality of life of the communities in which we live. The GBCF provides the opportunity to build on that strength.

Organizations awarded grants are:

City of Hudson
City of St. John
Crimestoppers of Stafford County
D.A.R.E. St. John Police Dept.
Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library
Kansas Children's Service League (serving Stafford Co.)
Macksville Christian Church
Macksville Lions Club
Nora E. Larabee Memorial Library
Stafford County Extension Service
Stafford County Health Dept.
Stafford County Historical Society
Stafford District Hospital
Stafford Education Foundation
USD 349 Stafford Community Schools
USD 350 St. John Community Schools
