Kansas State Fair, Hutchinson:    Friday, Sept 10 thru 19. It’s a great fair with arts, crafts, barbecued corn on the cob, tractors, steers, games, cotton candy, rides,  exhibits, funnel cakes, and much more!  See below for more details on special days and free entertainment.

Ride for the Red, Pratt:  It’s the annual charity poker run on Saturday, Sept. 11. The Cannonball Trail American Red Cross Ride goes on whether rain or shine. Comfort Suites at 704 Allison Lane is where it starts at 8 a.m. with breakfast and registration. The run begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. back at the  Comfort Suites.  Grand prize is $500 for poker hand and there’s a suggested donation ticket drawing for $1,000! 37th Annual Hansen Arts & Crafts Fair, Logan:  Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Hansen Museum on Main Street in Hansen, you’ll experience one of the best meccas for shoppers anywhere. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. you’ll have crafters and artists featuring jewelry, fiber handicrafts, wooden items, paintings, floral arrangements, stained class and a lot more. There’s tons of food from hamburgers to home made turkey and noodles to churned ice cream to bierocks to sno cones.

Children will be kept busy with an enchanted castle, a 22’ slide and obstacle course. Got a turtle? Bring it for the turtle races. There’s also an egg toss and a sand pile scavenger hunt.
