Obituary Margaret Bettie Lyons 1912 - 2010

HUDSON, Kan.  - Margaret Bettie Lyons, 97, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Leisure Homestead, Stafford.  Born December 30, 1912 in Rural Hudson, she was the daughter of Fred and Laura Adams Helmers.  She was a resident of the Hudson area for most of her life.  She was a country school teacher from 1931-38 for the San Diego and Riley schools.  She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Hudson.  On July 30, 1938 she married John Lyons at Hutchinson.  He died February 27, 1999. 

She is survived by two daughters:  Margery Clark and her husband Kenneth of St. John, and   Betty Searle and her husband Gaylen of Hudson.  Three grandchildren.  Three great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., 2010 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford with Wade Russell presiding.  Burial will be at the Stafford Cemetery.

 Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. 

Memorials may be sent to the Peace Church, Leisure Homestead or Donor's Choice, all in care of the chapel.
