Obituary: Lori Diane Lamb 1959 - 2010

Lori Diane Lamb, age 50, died June 19, 2010 at her rural home near Trousdale.  Lori was born Nov. 3, 1959 at Stafford, the daughter of Douglas and Linda (Banks) Lamb.

A lifelong resident of the Macksville and Trousdale area, she graduated from Macksville High School in 1977 and received her B.S. Degree in Education from Kansas State University in 1982. She was a farmer and athletic coach for Valley Center, Skyline and Macksville Schools. 

Memberships include the Trousdale United Methodist Church and the Macksville Alumni Association, Kansas State University Alumni Association and she was a Kansas Master Gardener.  She was a sports writer for the St. John News as well as for the Larned and Pratt newspapers.

Survivors include her parents, Douglas and Linda Lamb of Macksville, son Matthew R. Garcia, Terre Haute, Ind.,  daughter Courtney M. Garcia, Chicago, Ill., two sisters and their husbands Nita and Don George  Keenan of St. John and Kara and Brad Lock of Cimarron;  grandmother Dora Banks, Pratt and nieces Trudy Watson, Carlie Hoffman and her husband, Brandon, and Kate Lock.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Earl Banks, and  Bryce and Doris Lamb.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Trousdale United Methodist Church, Trousdale, with Pastor Byoung Lee presiding.

Burial of the cremains will follow in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University or the Trousdale United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, Kansas  67576.
