Keith Franklin Fairchild, age 80, died July 21, 2010 at the Stafford County Hospital, Stafford. He was born June 23, 1930 at Quasqueton, Iowa, the son of Edmond Franklin and Delpha (Heiserman) Fairchild.
A resident of St. John since 1953, he was a farmer/stockman. Organizations and memberships include: Calvary Baptist Church, Deacon and Trustee, Youth Sunday School Teacher, AWANA Leader, St. John CO-OP and Hospital Boards, Lions Club, Kansas State Extension and Farmers and Merchants State Bank Boards.
On Sept. 23, 1950, he married Fern (Giedinghagen) at Stafford. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Kurt Fairchild and wife RoAnn, St. John; a brother, Wallace Fairchild, Oelwein, Iowa; two sisters, Joy Batterson, Washington, Iowa, Jean Franklin, Vinton, Iowa; granddaughters, Jenny Dyson and husband Luke, Romeoville, Ill., Jaime Schechter and husband Andrew, Middleton, Ohio; grandson, Brett Fairchild, St. John; great grandchildren, Alex and Isaac Dyson, Abigail and Elsie Schechter.
Funeral service will be 3:00pm, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, Stafford, with Pastor Jim Dillon presiding. Private burial will be in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.
Visitation will be Friday from 1-8pm at Minnis Chapel, St. John.
