Obituary Marjorie Garvin Swartz 1926 - 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Marjorie Garvin Swartz, 83, died December 7, 2009 of natural causes at her home in Anchorage.

She was born on May 9, 1926 in St. John. Following graduation she studied for two years at a university in Texas.  She was a resident of St. John, and Missoula, Mont. and moved to Alaska in 1982.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She is survived by son Zane Swartz and spouse of Puallop, Wash.; son Grant Swartz and spouse of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter Jennifer Bartlett and spouse of Oklahoma City, Okla., nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by oldest son Daine Swartz, oldest daughter Susan Swartz; and husband Warren E. Swartz.

Services were held Saturday, December 12, at the LDS Baxter Chapel in Anchorage with Bishop Hickenlooper presiding. 

A service will also be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Minnis Chapel in St. John, with Bishop Daniel Curtis presiding.  She will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in St. John, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the LDS missionary fund or the Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library.
