I was going to write about how great the other half of my brain works but I have this story bouncing around inside of my head. Instead of risking anymore damaged to my brain, I should tell it to you.

There was an owner/operator,  that is a driver that reaps the reward when things are good and pays for it when things break down, had his truck in the shop. His truck would be in the shop for several weeks.

I picked him up so he could retrieve an abandoned company truck. The only information we were given was that it was just off the highway and next to one of our shippers in Lyons, Co.
We had about a hour of daylight left to find this truck and could not find it anywhere.

I called night dispatch and told him that we could not find the truck. He said he didn't know why because he was holding a satellite photo of where the truck was.
DUH! They had a photo but never once thought about giving us a copy.

Several phone calls later, the photo was sent to the sheriffs office. Now it is dark but with a great sheriff office dispatcher, she told was what to look for and we found the truck. It was 3 miles from where we were told and in a field behind a greenhouse and barn. We pulled in the driveway and called for a sheriff officer to come out  before we would go out in that field.

A car came up the driveway and stopped next to us.

It was a older couple with the husband  driving and  he rolled down his window. His wife leaned over to look out his window and proceeded to tell us that this was a private driveway and that was their house.

The other driver was trying to explain what we were doing there but she would not stop talking, I squatted down so I could see in the car and said, "ma'am, SHUT UP"!

Her husband started to get a grin on his face.

I then asked her if this was her driveway and house? She said it was. I asked her if that truck in the field belonged to her?

She said it didn't. I then told her that as soon as the sheriff officer arrived and since I was representing the trucking company, I would have her arrested for possession of stolen property.
It pays to watch the television show Cops.

Her husband turn and looked at us with the biggest grin on his face but knew if he laughed, he would pay for it at the other end of the driveway.

They quietly drove away while we spent the next hour charging the batteries to get that truck started.

For a simple task to retrieve an abandoned, it  turned into quite an experience.--
