Garden City Community College’s men’s track team had a few solid performances on Day 2 of the Region VI Track and Field Championships in Hutchinson on Friday.

David Enns had the best finish for the Broncbusters at Gowans Stadium, taking second in the javelin with a heave of 192 feet, 11 inches. Elijah Murrison was not far behind in sixth, with a personal best mark of 178-10.5 — that qualified Murrison for the NJCAA Championships.

In the long jump, Dewayne Reed cleared 24-04.5 and took fifth. For the women, Morgan Henderson also placed in the long jump, clearing 18-06 — that mark qualified Henderson for the NJCAA's.

Also for the men, Tavius Woodall had the ninth-best time in the 100-meter dash for the preliminaries, qualifying for Saturday’s final. He finished in 10.65 seconds. The NJCAA qualifying standard is 10.64.
