Two Macksville Mustangs joined a host of over 1A Division 1 players at Beloit’s Trojan Stadium, Saturday, for the 1A 8-Man all-star game.

Playing for the west team was Evan Loomis and Marc Renfro.

Evan Loomis, Macksville, is a 2010 graduate of Macksville High School. Football statistics and honors include: Senior Year: All Eight Man Second Team LB & OE Hutchinson News, All Eight Man First Team Linebacker Wichita Eagle & Topeka Capital, Unanimous All-District Five First Team Linebacker & Tight End. He had 32 receptions for 429 yds and 9 TDs with 91 solo tackles, 25 assisted tackles, 1 sack, 5 int, and 5 fumble recoveries. Loomis plans to attend Dodge City Community College and play football.

Marc Renfro, a 2010 graduate of Macksville Highs School, stats include: 2009: 1055 total yds., 5.96 yds per carry, 25 TD's rushing, 2 TD's receiving, 230 yds receptions, 1 KO for TD. He was selected 1st Team All District 5 Runningback, 1st Team All Central Prairie League RB and DB, 1st Team All District 5 Defensive Back, Topeka Capital Journal HM Runningback 8-man.  Renfro plans to attend Kansas State University and play football.

The West defeated the East 32-24 with Loomis catching two touchdown passes from quarterback Cade Rietzke of Thunder Ridge, including the game winning score with 1:05 left in the game.

The catch by Loomis, who will play at Dodge City Community College this fall, capped a back-and-forth second half. The East twice erased deficits in the final 13 minutes.

Renfro played defensive corner back. His speed lead him to four or five touchdowns in the early going.

Both Macksville players played the entire game.
