Come pedal the plains with the Stafford County recreation commission, July 11
The Stafford County Recreation Commission is sponsoring the first ever Pedal the Plains bicycle ride July 11.
The route offers two distances with an 8-mile out and back and a 20-mile loop. Both routes are family friendly on paved roads with crossing guards on major intersections and support vehicles for breakdowns and those that can’t make the entire route.
The ride begins and ends main and Broadway in Stafford. Day of, registration and packet pick up begins at 7 a.m. with the ride starting at 8. Cost is $25 which includes a t-shirt, and Oktoberfest button voucher along with entry into a prize drawing pool.
For more information on the ride call 620-786-8718 or go online at www.facebook.com/pages/Oktoberfest-Stafford-Kansas.
The route is a flat smooth route, where ride organizers boast “only the brick streets are bumpy,” referring to Stafford’s rustic brick streets.
