The Macksville Mustangs football team came up against a tough Central Plains team at Bi-District and had a season ending loss of 12-58.

The Macksville Mustangs journeyed to Claflin last Fri- day in hopes of moving on to the next step towards the Kansas State High School Championship game held at Fischer Field in Newton, November 25th. Their pur- pose — to win the Bi-District, Eight-Man Division I game against the Central Plains Oilers. But unfortu- nately, it didn’t turn out that way as the Mustangs went down to defeat, losing to the Oilers 12-58, the game called at the half.

Points scored by quarters: First Quarter Macksville 0, Central Plains 14 / Macksville 12 – Central Plains 30. (12-58)

“Tonight's game was a rough one to end the season on” said Macksville’s head coach Chet Skinner. “We knew go- ing into the game we would need to match Central Plain’s physicality and we struggled to do so consistently. They are a well-disciplined team. They read their keys and make the sure tackle every play. We did not play our best game and I feel for our seniors that ends the sea- son and their careers with an awful taste in their mouth. These seniors have come a long way since their winless freshman year. They helped lead Macksville to a 7-3 season and a playoff appearance for the first time in six years. I am proud of these seniors and of the team this year. I wish them the best of luck in the future."
