TOPEKA — Nancy Piepmeier, 77, Topeka, Kansas passed away October 7, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home following a brief illness.
Nancy was born to Leland and Mary (Broadfoot) Richardson in Stafford, Kansas, on March 13, 1940. Nancy attended schools in St. John and graduated in 1958 from St. John High School. She was the oldest of 7 children.
Nancy married the love of her life, Harold Piepmeier, on June 8, 1958 in St. John, Kansas. They had two children: Anita and Rodney.
Nancy worked for Topeka USD 501 as an administrative assistant. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, and a faithful member at Quivera Heights Church of Christ, Topeka.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Rod, in July 1994, and one brother, Jim Richardson (Elk City, OK) in July 2017. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold; daughter Anita Piepmeier Fisher (Topeka); three brothers Phillip Richardson (Peebles, Ohio), Ron Richardson (St. John), Mark Richardson (Winfield) and two sisters Martha Cutright (St. John) and Kathy Richardson (Albuquerque, NM).
Nancy leaves behind two grandsons, Brett (Amber) Fisher (Topeka) and Eric Piepmeier; two great grandsons, Kade and Kameron Fisher (Topeka); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Quivira Heights Church of Christ, Topeka. Private graveside inurnment took place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
