SALINA — The Thomas More Prep-Marian baseball team improved to 13-1 with a dominant sweep on Monday at Sacred Heart.
The Monarchs won 19-0 in the first game and 16-1 in the nightcap. Both games went three innings before the run rule was enforced.
Gavin Schumacher and Brady Kreutzer each had three hits in the first game. Luke Ruder homered and Trenton Mayo and Gavin Schumacher doubled.
Cole Zimmerman gave up one hit in three innings on the mound.
Mayo led the Monarchs with three hits in Game 2. Chase Werth had a home run, while Creighton Renz hit two doubles and Kreutzer had one.
Werth pitched two innings and Tate Garcia took the third inning to close it out.
The Monarchs will play at Goodland on Thursday.
