PRATT, KANSAS — Delmar D. Hodgkinson, 81, passed away August 25, 2018 at Marjorie’s Home, Kingman, KS. Delmar was born on February 7, 1937 to Robert Roy and Bertha Dora (Mettscher) Hodgkinson in rural Stafford County, Kansas. On June 1, 1956, he married Alda G. (Singleton) Hodgkinson in Pratt, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2015.
Delmar was a farmer, stockman, and horse trader in the Cairo area. He owned and operated Hodgkinson Sales and Service, selling livestock trailers, Hydrabed’s and flat beds. Delmar was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association, past member of the Pratt County Extension Council, the Pratt Fair Board, and the Pratt Saddle and Lariat Club.
Survivors include a son, Darren (Jill) Hodgkinson of Pratt, KS; two daughters, Debra (Stanley) Green of Irving, TX and Connie (Gene) Panek of Cunningham, KS; a brother, Dennis Hodgkinson of Osawatomie, KS; six grandchildren, Keith (Natalie) Green, Kristina (Levi) Enslow, Nick (Jamie) Panek, Travis Panek, Dalton (fiancée Kristen Eck) Hodgkinson and Ciara Hodgkinson; and four great-grandchildren, Allison and Jacob Green, Oakley Panek, and Nathan Enslow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Delbert and Robert “Bob” Hodgkinson and a sister, Shirley Davis.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS, with John Hamm officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt, KS.
