The Lady Mustangs face tough foes in league play.

With a record of 14 wins, 10 losses, last week’s schedule was definitely light for the Macksville Lady Stangs, with just two matches all week. However nothing was “light” in those matches, especially being played on Kinsley’s home court, and going up against the Central Plains Oilers and Kinsley Coyotes last Tuesday.

The Lady Stangs come up against the Central Plains in the second round, losing a league match 7-25, 19-25. Against Kinsley, a team the Lady Stangs played in the Pawnee Heights Tournament two weeks ago, while the sets were closer, a loss is still a loss as the Coyotes took the CPL match 19-25, 22-25.

“I was disappointed with our lack of focus, energy, and communication” said Macksville head volleyball coach Jennifer Gillespie. “We will be better next week.”

Against the Oilers, Brooke Smith and BrayLynn Anshutz each had three kills, Jennifer Ortiz and Jacquenlin Galan each had two and Lexie Wright had one.
