The Macksville Mustangs need a win over the Ness City Eagles to extend their post season play.
After losing to the top ranked Central Plains Oilers 0-46 last Friday on Parents Night, the 2-3 in district play (4-4 overall) Macksville Mustangs have a must-win situation this Thursday, going up against the Ness City Eagles away, a team the Mustangs lost to in the first game of the season at home.
Most certainly it was a big, big blow to the Mustangs and their fans, with their leading quarterback Kody Mead sidelined due to illness.
This loss was really no surprise, considering the Oilers clobbered the Little River Redskins earlier this season, a team that the Mustangs lost to.
Going by quarters, the Oilers led 0-24 after one. Added 22 more points in the second. The game was called at the half.
